Planning can be created independent of, or with reference to, other planning versions. Individual scenarios can be created and used for each planning. Scenarios can be used, based on a "Basic Scenario", to calculate and store modified output data from marginally changed input data. A scenario provides answers to "what-if" questions. Within a scenario you can analyse the impact of a defined or planned change of volume, capacity, demand, price or any other contractual rule or regulation on other planning values or results. Therefore, GAPS allows you to calculate proceeds with alternative cost index forecasts or modified temperature curves easily and at any time.
Planning objects are used to describe, for example, customers, contracts, stores, indices, infeed and feedback points, virtual stations and pipelines (number of planning objects can be expanded). Planning objects can have as many "free attributes" (user defined fields) as required.
