PSI received first energy order from the Republic of Kazakhstan

JSC «Mangistau electricity distribution network company» decided in favour of PSIcontrol

Berlin, 31 August 2016 – JSC «Mangistau electricity distribution network company» (MEDC) awarded PSI with the implementation of the network control system PSIcontrol as a base for the regional dispatching control centre in Aktau, in the Western part of Kazakhstan. Thus, PSI delivers fully-functional SCADA/DMS electricity network control systems to operate the electrical energy distribution in Mangistau, the leading oil and gas producing region in Kazakhstan.

JSC «MEDNC» operates 57 substations, 220, 110, 35/6-10 kV and low-voltage distribution grids and more than 5,000 km overhead lines with overall installed transmission capacity of appr. 2,000 MW. JSC “MEDNC” distributes over 2,500 GWh per year and provides appr. 20,000 customers with electrical energy, eighty percent among them are oil and gas producers.

With this project JSC “MEDNC” wants to improve the operation of the electrical grid in order to support the development and implementation of local smart grid solutions. The main outstanding point of the project is that it is a first fully-functional DMS project in Kazakhstan, identifying a modern tendency in the Kazakh energy sector development.

The integration partner in this project is Smart Engineering Group, which is one of the leading engineering team in Kazakhstan. The project has to be finished till the end of the third quarter 2016.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (gas, oil, electricity, heat, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,650 persons worldwide.
